So in all the years of being a Maine’s children’s photographer I have had some parents bring in some interesting props to make their baby photos a bit more personal. My recent portrait session with Jonathan definitely took on a nautical theme. When his Mom and Dad brought in a large ship model I have to admit at first I was skeptical. This was a Grandma request so I would definitely give it my best shot. I have to admit that I love these Maine baby photos with the ship model! Its honestly a bit more traditional that what I usually shoot but its really cute. So if you have a cool old ship like this one at home or see one at a garage sale grab it. I will be happy to trade if for some studio credit. Enjoy the photos.

Happy Birthday Lily! This has been a great week as a Maine children’s photographer at Gregory Rice Photography. I normally do a birthday theme at my Baby Plan member’s one year session. Balloons and cake are aways good props. Lily’s mom really got into the theme and made a tutu and brought matching balloons ahead so I could be prepared. She even made the party hat and horns to match. I so love it when Mom’s get creative. Its a wonderful way to make a Maine children’s photo session special.

Being a Maine children’s photographer can be challenging. However I have found that patience and experience usually will help me get the photos that parents love. Nobody will be surprised when I tell that taking photos of a two year old girl can be challenging. It took a bit but I was finally able to get some portraits of Sophie that I am sure her mother will love. Enjoy!

Little Franklin wasn’t in the best of moods a few weeks ago for his 3 month session. So his mom brought him back in for some more photos. As a Maine children’s Photographer, I often get the questions about what if we have a session that is just so, so? Simply put I need to make great photos of your baby so you have plenty of choices. If I don’t give you those choices you simply won’t be able to buy lots of photos. Usually we can turn your child’s mood and get some great photos. If we aren’t successful then we simply schedule a time for you to come back and give it another try. My depth of experience making Maine kids photos really pays off here and I only have to repeat a handful of sessions.
